Broward County Lifeguards
To the untrained eye, it may look like those lifeguards sitting poolside are just working theirr tans. In their red swimsuits, with their obligatory sunglasses, they don't seem to have a care in the world. Their jobs are a breeze, right?
The reality is that the duties of a lifeguard are harder than they may seem -- a lot harder. Performing simulated rescues, monitoring the safety of patrons, completing extensive training sessions, teaching swim lessons, and being on top of their game all augment a lifeguard's basic job.
Since 2004 Broward County lifeguards have protected

1,671,934 patrons at the County's five waters parks. These facilities are regularly monitored by Jeff Ellis & Associates, an industry leader in aquatics certification that conducts extensive training, inspections, and audits for all staff and facilities. Broward County consistently receives some of the highest scores possible.
