Ultimate Athlete Competition
- Quiet Waters Park hosts athletes in series of challenging events -
WHAT: Broward County Parks and Recreation Division hosts the Ultimate Athlete Competition at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach on Saturday, November 8. The competition, which starts at 7:30 a.m., will include individual open male and female and two-person team categories. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. The eight events consist of a two-mile run, an off-road bike time trial, a farmer’s carry, a truck push, a tire flip, a log lift, a shuttle run, and a low hurdle. The events begin simultaneously with designated start times for each athlete, all of whom are required to provide their own bikes and helmets approved by the American National Standards Institute. Fluids will be provided in the transition area, and plastic cleats are allowed for field events and wrist wraps for the farmer’s carry. For the two-person team format, each team must compete in all eight events listed above, with each member competing in only four events. Event selections must be noted on the registration form. This is a Commit 2B Fit!™ – It Starts in Parks event.
The registration fee for individuals is $25 per person ($40 per team) if postmarked or paid by October 31, $35 per person ($50 per team) if postmarked or paid from November 2 through 6. No race-day registration. Registration is available online at www.active.com until Friday, October 31. Nonrefundable registration checks should be payable to Parkland/Coral Springs Road Runners Club, and mailed to Ultimate Athlete Competition, Quiet Waters Park, 401 S.
