Learn While You Lunch at Lecture Series

- First lecture focuses on underwater archaeology -

 

WHAT:           Discover our human past underneath the surfaces of our oceans, lakes, and other waterways during the first installment of the Lunch-and-Learn Nature Series at the Anne Kolb Nature Center at West Lake Park in Hollywood. The first lecture, “Underwater Archaeology,” will be presented from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, by Dr. Kira Kaufmann of the Florida Public Archaeology Network. The program is for adults, and admission per lecture is a $5 donation to the Friends of the Anne Kolb Nature Center volunteer group. A complimentary lunch is included.

 

Subsequent lectures will include “Mollusks: How They Live, How They Survive” by Dr. Jose Leal  of the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum  on Sanibel Island (Thursday, December 11) and “Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge: Sea Change on the Horizon” by refuge manager  Margo Stahl (Thursday, January 15).

HOW:             Admission: $5/per person per lecture suggested donation to the Friends of the Anne Kolb Nature Center. Preregistration is required at least a week prior to the event.
