2008 Castaway Island K9 Splash at T.Y. Park

Photo by GlennThis was the first time that T.Y. Park hosted a K9 splash event and the doggy patrons loved it!  The new pool at T.Y. was especially popular as the dogs could swim and jump into the water.  A few even dove head first into the pool!  Also check out these photos taken by a park patron and these taken by a professional photographer who donated his time and photography for the splash events --Pet Studio.

The water parks are open to dogs only after the season for the humans has ended (which is the end of October).  The level of chlorine is signifcantly reduced for the canines.  Humans cannot swim with their furry children because the dogs do not know the rules about keeping the water sanitary..  Once the doggy weekend is over, the water park is closed and completely cleaned for the new season which will begin in March 2009.

 The Doggy Dinghies came in small and large sizes.  Toys were provided by the parks and the dogs shared
 Everyone got a chance to try the Doggy Dinghies  Swimming was the most fun - according to the dogs
 The day ended well for most dogs when their parents bought them a doggy ice cream  All breeds of dogs were represented
 Some dogs swam for the first time  Some dogs didn't swim but they had fun watching others
 Is that a smile on his face?  Retreiving the ball or toys was especially fun
 Some dogs just enjoyed sitting in the cool water  Some dogs were just too cute when they were wet
